Strangest (and Weirdest) Contact Lenses Ever Made

Here is my list of the strangest and weirdest contact lenses ever made. Some are creepy, some are just plain weird while others will make you say, “Someone paid money for that?” and indeed they did.  If you’re under 10, I would look away or else these might reappear in your dreams tonight.  Now, on to the strangest and weirdest contact lenses!

Nike MaxSight contact lenses are very functional, but also very weird. Each one is designed for a different sport, this one is red and is designed for cyclists to reduce the road glare from the sun.

Zebra Contact Lenses have the look and pattern of a zebra. Strange for sure.

Hello Kitty has just as many fans as it does detractors. These contact lenses could be part of the revolt. Look closely, they’re kind of hard to see, but you can see the weird Hello Kitty icon.

Full black sclera contact lenses are the strangest (and creepiest) in my opinion.  No matter what you say, you would squeal like a girl if someone popped out from under your bed with these black sclera contact lenses!

While not creepy, weird and strange however, people are starting to wear “Eye Jewelery” (or Eye Jewels).  Yes, I know that it sounds like these diamond contact lenses, but it is much worse and looks very painful.  I don’t know much about these so if you can give me some info, leave a comment.

The Eye Tattoo has to be one of my favorite strange and weird eye changes.  Instead of wearing colored contact lenses just to make your eye color change, why not get your eye tattooed?  That sounds much easier…

If you’re the lazy type, Stick on Eyes might be a better fit than contact lenses completely.  These stick on eyes are just stickers that you put on your eyelids and then fall asleep.  People will think you’re weird, and unless they’re completely blind, they’ll know they’re just stickers, and you’ll be running into walls.

That’s all I’ve got, what other types of strange contact lenses do you have for me?  Send a picture or just post some info!

White Out Contact Lenses

White out contact lenses are a contact lens that completely turn your eye white. Many time with contact lenses they are designed to add color or emphasize the color already in your eye. White out contact lenses do just the opposite. White outs are designed to give you eye a completely colorless look.

Many times white out contacts are called “blind eye” or “blindies” because they make your eye look as if it were blind and frosted over or glassy. The benefit to the white eye contact lenses is that they’re very unique. Most people are looking to add color, but white contacts remove all color.

As you can see in the picture below, the white contact lenses are pretty strange and would make for a great Halloween contact lenses costume if you’re dressing up as someone who is dead, but walking.

In this picture below is another type of white eye contact lens that only shows the pupil and removes any color around the pupil.

Naruto Contact Lenses

Naruto Contact Lenses are from the popular Naruto comic book, tv series and movies (DVD).  Naruto has long been popular and some of the most popular contact lenses from Naruto are the Sharingan contact lenses.

Sharingan is a subset of the naruto and cosplay culture.  Naruto contact lenses come in many different varieties as can be seen in the naruto pictures below.  If you’re looking for great naruto contacts we have a great selction that is sure to help you find any different anime contact lenses, including places that you can buy anime contact lenses from.

With anime contact lenses such as the naruto contact lenses, you’re sure to fool your friends when you show up with your cosplay costume and naruto’s in your eyes.  They’ll be like, “You’re really Naruto!”.  You don’t have to tell them where you buy your naruto contact lenses or the fact that they are disposable but soft contact lenses!

Dragon Eye Contact Lenses

You may know of the eye of the Tiger, but the Eye of the Dragon is even better.  This Dragon Eye contact lens (dragon eye pictures) is a full sclera covering contact lens that has a neon green and dark green outside that looks like the scales of a dragon or a lizard.   The inside has a black cat eye type pupil with orange and black speckles like a dragon egg.

If you want to buy the Dragon Eye contact lenses, they’re not cheap.  They’re particularly not inexpensive because they are usually hand painted and they are full sclera contact lenses.  If you’ve never used contact lenses, Dragon Eyes are probably not for you since getting a full scleral contact lens into your eye is very difficult.

Stick with the Wild Eye contact lenses or even the Alien Eye Contact Lenses would be great and easy to get into your eye.

So here is the picture of the Dragon Eye contact lens that I promised:

Tell me that dragon eye contact lens isn’t scary!

Halloween Gothic Contact Lenses

Yesterday we talked about Gothic contact lenses.  Today we’re looking at Halloween gothic contact lenses.  I’ll explain the difference soon.

Gothic contact lenses are generally black and white.  Halloween Gothic contact lenses are the same.  The main difference is that generally only gothic people wear goth contact lenses.  During Halloween anyone can wear a gothic contact lens and get away with it.  If you’re not goth, you can dress goth for Halloween and wear a contact lens or two.

If you’re new to Gothic contact lenses I would suggest wearing a full black sclera contact lens.  The picture of this Halloween gothic contact lens is below.

Creepy!

Buy Anime Contact Lenses

Since 1996 when anime started gaining popularity in the United States, anime contact lenses have been extremely popular.  With recent contact lenses dropping in price, anime contact lens pictures have been readily available for just about anyone who would like to buy anime contact lenses.

Those who want to buy anime contacts include your average anime fan, hardcore anime fans, and even people who don’t really care for anime, but buy halloween contacts to finish their costume.  One of the most popular styles of anime contact lenses is the sharingan contact lenses.

Another popular style of anime contact lenses include the wild eye contact lenses.  Wild Eyez or Wild Eyes are a brand of contact lenses that make crazy contacts and great anime contacts.

White Contact Lenses

White contact lenses have more uses than just Halloween contact lenses! The lightest color in the spectrum, white, has been a very popular contact lens since the late 1990’s. White contacts first made their debut with celebrities and music stars. Gothic rock and punk bands made white contact lenses more popular than most manufacturers thought they would be.

Shipments started slowing down because demand rose quicker than anyone expected especially when Kid Rock wore a white contact lens in both eyes at a concert. Manson made the contact lenses popular as well by wearing his own style named the Manson Style white contact lenses.

After 1999 and into the 2000’s, the white contact lenses started to fade in popularity the rise of sharingan contact lenses and other comic book and anime contact lenses started popping up. When the fad switches I expect white contact lenses to become popular by 2010 again. People will be wanting contact lenses that cover the full sclera and hide the entire eye. With a full white scleral contact lens you won’t see any veins or any color in the eye.

Here are a few pictures of white contact lenses.

Gothic Contact Lenses

Gothic contact lenses were made popular by these Manson contact lenses. After Marilyn Manson began to lose popularity, other gothic contact lens wearing superstars entered the stage and made a variety of different types and styles of contact lenses popular.

Since those other music artists (celebrities wearing contacts) and celebrities started wearing contact lenses, the gothic scene also rose in popularity by wearing many different types of contact lenses. Gothic contact lenses don’t have a particular color scheme, but gothic contacts are usually black and white, sometimes red and rarely blue, yellow, and green.

Black gothic contact lenses and white gothic contact lenses have been popular for a long time and seem to be increasing in popularity and I expect goth contact lenses to gain popularity until goth kids stop being gothic.

Tomorrow we’ll look at Halloween gothic contact lenses and I have a great picture to show you in that post as well!

Cool Contact Lenses

Cool contact lenses are completely and utterly a matter of perception.  While some people will love Halloween contact lenses, others will want sharingan contact lenses.  Still others will want red, black, blue or white contact lenses.  Some people think gothic contact lenses are cool.  Other people think the Manson style contact lense are the coolest contact lenses ever made.  Personally I don’t think it really matters what I think, what is cool to you is perfect.  What I like shouldn’t influence your decision to buy contact lenses that I think are cool.  Personally I think that the crazy colored contacts are my favorite, but that’s my opinion and may or may not be cool to you.
You go out and buy cool contact lenses based on what you think is cool.  Don’t buy a set of cool contacts because all of your friends are wearing them, buy them because you like them and think they’re awesome.  I do show some lists of what is popular, but popular isn’t for everyone.  Forge your own path and create your own destiny!

Special Effects Contact Lenses

Movies have used special effects since the invention of the computers.  Before that, they used special effects as much as possible.   In the last 10 years as special effects contact lenses have gained in popularity, movie studios have begun using the contact lenses like never before.  Theatrical Halloween contact lenses, and movie contact lenses have become even more popular than most people who have ever thought.

What many people didn’t think of was that a lot of people enjoy wearing special effect contacts every day.  Some people wear black contact lenses that cover the sclera every day!

While marketers couldn’t have known how popular the special effects industry would be, they now know that people everywhere want their special effect contact lenses for movies, Halloween, and even daily use!
