Can Anyone Buy Coloured Contact Lenses?

Coloured contact lenses are a great way to spice up your style, if you can keep your eyes clean and can remember to take them out every night. Although they can really emphasize some of your features, not everyone can buy colored contacts. Most types of contacts require a prescription.

Although there is a type of colored contact lens that doesn’t require a prescription, known as plano, or ones that don’t significantly correct your vision, it is always best to consult an optometrist before radically changing your eyewear usage (read: if you haven’t ever worn lenses or glasses before).

It is also true that the law requires you to have a prescription, even if your lenses don’t have any vision correction and are purely cosmetic. The FDA has a warning that even plain contacts present a risk of eye injury and blindness if you fit or wear them improperly.

It will also help if you see the optometrist to find your new eye color. Only they can tell exactly how the lens should fit over your eye, and before you buy them in a novelty shop or online, it will help to try them out in the optometrist’s office.

Black out contact lenses
If you are looking for a way to make a dramatic statement, either in time for Halloween, another costume party, or simply looking to stand out in everyday life, blackout FX contact lenses may be the way to do it. These lenses completely cover the iris of your eye so that your pupil appears much larger, and can emphasize your eye without looking too different, but different enough that people will notice.

These types of lenses are most frequently used in horror movies for the effect they have on producing a vampire or a zombie, but can work great for your event as well. It is important when looking for these types of lenses to look for a reputable seller and to also check the seal on the contacts when you receive them to make sure it is not broken.

As with other color contacts, you may need to get a prescription, particularly if you are looking to get ones that correct your eye vision as opposed to being simply for cosmetic purposes. Due to the dual nature of these lenses, they don’t disable your sight in any way, and will simply make you look more serious or dreadful from afar, depending on what you are going for.

Strangest (and Weirdest) Contact Lenses Ever Made

Here is my list of the strangest and weirdest contact lenses ever made. Some are creepy, some are just plain weird while others will make you say, “Someone paid money for that?” and indeed they did.  If you’re under 10, I would look away or else these might reappear in your dreams tonight.  Now, on to the strangest and weirdest contact lenses!

Nike MaxSight contact lenses are very functional, but also very weird. Each one is designed for a different sport, this one is red and is designed for cyclists to reduce the road glare from the sun.

Zebra Contact Lenses have the look and pattern of a zebra. Strange for sure.

Hello Kitty has just as many fans as it does detractors. These contact lenses could be part of the revolt. Look closely, they’re kind of hard to see, but you can see the weird Hello Kitty icon.

Full black sclera contact lenses are the strangest (and creepiest) in my opinion.  No matter what you say, you would squeal like a girl if someone popped out from under your bed with these black sclera contact lenses!

While not creepy, weird and strange however, people are starting to wear “Eye Jewelery” (or Eye Jewels).  Yes, I know that it sounds like these diamond contact lenses, but it is much worse and looks very painful.  I don’t know much about these so if you can give me some info, leave a comment.

The Eye Tattoo has to be one of my favorite strange and weird eye changes.  Instead of wearing colored contact lenses just to make your eye color change, why not get your eye tattooed?  That sounds much easier…

If you’re the lazy type, Stick on Eyes might be a better fit than contact lenses completely.  These stick on eyes are just stickers that you put on your eyelids and then fall asleep.  People will think you’re weird, and unless they’re completely blind, they’ll know they’re just stickers, and you’ll be running into walls.

That’s all I’ve got, what other types of strange contact lenses do you have for me?  Send a picture or just post some info!

White Out Contact Lenses

White out contact lenses are a contact lens that completely turn your eye white. Many time with contact lenses they are designed to add color or emphasize the color already in your eye. White out contact lenses do just the opposite. White outs are designed to give you eye a completely colorless look.

Many times white out contacts are called “blind eye” or “blindies” because they make your eye look as if it were blind and frosted over or glassy. The benefit to the white eye contact lenses is that they’re very unique. Most people are looking to add color, but white contacts remove all color.

As you can see in the picture below, the white contact lenses are pretty strange and would make for a great Halloween contact lenses costume if you’re dressing up as someone who is dead, but walking.

In this picture below is another type of white eye contact lens that only shows the pupil and removes any color around the pupil.

Naruto Contact Lenses

Naruto Contact Lenses are from the popular Naruto comic book, tv series and movies (DVD).  Naruto has long been popular and some of the most popular contact lenses from Naruto are the Sharingan contact lenses.

Sharingan is a subset of the naruto and cosplay culture.  Naruto contact lenses come in many different varieties as can be seen in the naruto pictures below.  If you’re looking for great naruto contacts we have a great selction that is sure to help you find any different anime contact lenses, including places that you can buy anime contact lenses from.

With anime contact lenses such as the naruto contact lenses, you’re sure to fool your friends when you show up with your cosplay costume and naruto’s in your eyes.  They’ll be like, “You’re really Naruto!”.  You don’t have to tell them where you buy your naruto contact lenses or the fact that they are disposable but soft contact lenses!

Dragon Eye Contact Lenses

You may know of the eye of the Tiger, but the Eye of the Dragon is even better.  This Dragon Eye contact lens (dragon eye pictures) is a full sclera covering contact lens that has a neon green and dark green outside that looks like the scales of a dragon or a lizard.   The inside has a black cat eye type pupil with orange and black speckles like a dragon egg.

If you want to buy the Dragon Eye contact lenses, they’re not cheap.  They’re particularly not inexpensive because they are usually hand painted and they are full sclera contact lenses.  If you’ve never used contact lenses, Dragon Eyes are probably not for you since getting a full scleral contact lens into your eye is very difficult. Currently we have the Dragon Eye Contacts priced at $219.99.

Stick with the Wild Eye contact lenses or even the Alien Eye Contact Lenses would be great and easy to get into your eye.

So here is the picture of the Dragon Eye contact lens that I promised:

Dragon Eye Contact Lenses are one of the most unique and desirable contact lenses made. These full sclera dragon eye contacts are usually out of stock, but we have them in stock currently (until supplies run out). As you can see from the picture, Dragon Eye contacts look like the scales of a dragon with a single black vertical pupil. Grab a pair of these Dragon Eye contacts before they’re sold out!
