Non Prescription Contact Lenses

Non prescription contact lenses aren’t an issue for most people.  A vast majority of the time contact lenses are to assist people with sight problems.  This could be near or farsightedness, but the fact remains, a great portion of people who wear contact lenses have a prescription from their doctor.  What about people who want a pair non-prescription contact lenses?

Non Prescription contact lenses are for people who are looking for either colored contact lenses, or are looking to do something unique like buy halloween contact lenses.  If that is you, a contact lens with no prescription might work.

If you’re one of those people who want contact lenses for the look, and not the prescription, non prescription contact lenses are definitely the way you want to go.  Sometimes you might actually need a prescription in order to be able to buy contact lenses, but the prescription has no “power” so the contact lenses can just be a straight clear lens (or colored, but won’t help with vision).

Those types of contact lenses are still considered prescription lenses, but in reality they don’t do what a contact lens does for people who has astigmatism or need a slight vision enhancement.

Nike Contact Lenses

While it may seem strange, we’ve had more than one customer contact us about Nike contact lenses.  The reason people are looking for Nike contact lenses is because Nike makes a “Max Sight” contact lens.  These contact lenses are generally known as Nike contacts or Nike MaxSight contacts, but are called just about everything.  Check out their official page here and here.

These contacts utilize new technology that filters out certain colors of UV light resulting in better performance depending on your sport.  For golfers the contact lenses filter out the red and green light allowing the golf ball to reflect it’s natural blue light.  This results in you being able to see the ball on the ground easily.

For those who enjoy mountain biking, the MaxSight contact lenses allow you to see shadows clearly since you know how important it is when you’re coming around a corner and see a rock or hole.

For bicyclists the Nike contact lenses filter out reflections caused by the sun hitting the hot pavement.  They also have a red glow which relaxes your eye and lets them focus for longer periods of time.

For every sport Nike offers auto tinting sunglasses (chromatic sunglasses) that provide the same effect.  Look for the Nike MaxSight contact lenses in a store or optometrist near you!

You can read more about these great Nike contact lenses at Al Conway’s website.  He is going to give his review after he’s worn them for a short while.

Bausch and Lomb also has some more information about the price of Nike MaxSight contact lenses at their website.

Purevision Toric Contact Lenses Review

While the Purevision Toric contact lenses are not new to the market, they have been gaining popularity very quickly over the last 2 years. Optometrists have been having customers giving them positive feedback, especially those that need the special Toric contact lenses. Astigmatism sufferers love the Toric lens because the surface is a combination of spherical and cylindrical. Otherwise it is torodial. While this may seem complex, it really isn’t.

Purevision has been making great contact lenses for a long time and the Toric lenses are no exception. Currently they’re on sale and you can get them as cheap as ever.
