In the past few days I have had 2 different emails asking about the darker navy blue contact lenses. Of course we can talk about dark blue contacts as well as light blue!

Navy blue contacts don’t usually serve the same purpose that their lighter cousins do. You won’t find very many celebrities wearing navy blue contacts. Most people looking for blue contact lenses want to appear to have beautiful blue eyes, or like Arnold Schwarzenegger, they want to appear to be kind and gentle, not the first thought that comes to the mind.

In any case, navy blue contact lenses have made a very popular appearance in award shows with the younger MTV generation. For you music fans, you could have seen FoB at the New Years’ Eve party wearing navy blue contact lenses.

Unmused has posted a followup article regarding her recent lasik eye surgery.   She says, “Four days later and I’m still not seeing quite as well as I’d like, especially up close. I know everyone heals differently and while some people see perfectly in the days after the surgery other’s  can take weeks before their vision stablizes. You always want to be in that first group though. So, poop.”  Don’t worry unmused, it’s a major surgery and will take time to heal.  If you aren’t seeing any better after two weeks, call your doctor and schedule an appointment for an evaluation!

IHF says the following, “Complications can arise through over use and over wearing along with sloppy hygiene and awkward fit. If you are using contacts for vision correcting purposes then you will have been to your doctor for analysis before getting a prescription to buy them.”

Complications are difficult to treat.  Make sure that your contacts come from a reputable source and are prescribed by your doctor.
