White Contact Lenses
White contact lenses have more uses than just Halloween contact lenses! The lightest color in the spectrum, white, has been a very popular contact lens since the late 1990’s. White contacts first made their debut with celebrities and music stars. Gothic rock and punk bands made white contact lenses more popular than most manufacturers thought they would be.
Shipments started slowing down because demand rose quicker than anyone expected especially when Kid Rock wore a white contact lens in both eyes at a concert. Manson made the contact lenses popular as well by wearing his own style named the Manson Style white contact lenses.
After 1999 and into the 2000’s, the white contact lenses started to fade in popularity the rise of sharingan contact lenses and other comic book and anime contact lenses started popping up. When the fad switches I expect white contact lenses to become popular by 2010 again. People will be wanting contact lenses that cover the full sclera and hide the entire eye. With a full white scleral contact lens you won’t see any veins or any color in the eye.
